31st December 2011

Dear all

Thanks to all those who took part in the carol singing at Charing Cross for Changing Faces, and at Liverpool Street Station for St Josephs Hospice. Over £400 was raised for Changing Faces, and although I have yet to hear from St Josephs, it is likely that at least this amount was collected for them.

The lunchtime concert at St James, Piccadilly on 23rd December was annother great success with one of our biggest audiences of the year. It was good to sing extracts from St Nicolas, having learned the music for the earlier concert in Eastbourne, and the three choruses were very well received. It was certainly very impresssive of you to give such a commited performance on such little rehearsal and so near to Christmas.

The 2012 Brandenberg Spring Choral Festival launches on 2nd January and our own concert is on 30th March 2012. The venue is the prestigious Temple Church in London which was built by the Knights Templar in the 12th century. It is one of only three Norman round churches left in England and we are very priviledged to be singing in this unique place of worship. The concert will include the Magnificat by Pergolesi, which we sang in France a few years ago.

In April 2012 we are giving a concert at All Saints Church in Wyke Regis, Dorset and possibly participating in their Sunday morning service, depending on the numbers staying overnight. They are greatly looking forward to our visit and plans and well advanced. You will need to book accommodation soon if you plan on staying as Weymouth is hosting the yachting events for the Olympics and yachtsmen and women will be descending on the town to prepare.

I look forward to seeing you all on 15th January which will include a bit of party to celebrate another years music making together. News of that from Peter.

Happy new year to you and yours

Love

Brian
