POITIERS

Peter Forte, Paul's brother who lives in the area, made sure our brief visit to Poitiers was a memorable one: from the first meal taken together in L'Absynthe to the final celebratory drink at his house. In between, a quite wonderful concert at St Hilaire and participation in their Sunday morning mass. There was a good sized audience and our second standing ovation this season! The acoustics in the church were stunning and there were so many moments during the evening when we were able to enjoy the sound of the choir ringing around the church.

Thanks to Benjamin for playing the 'cello for Svyati, Cavan for organising accommodation and Paul for being such an effective link between the French organisation and ourselves.

I'm sure there will be an invitation to return.

CHRISTMAS

We return to the newly refurbished and renamed 'Garden Museum' in Lambeth on Friday 5th December. We shall be singing a mixed programme, including items from 'Follow That Star' (a collection of modern close harmony songs) and carols from the Carols for Choirs 1. Please bring your own copy, or acquire one!

CAROL SINGING

We will be singing once again for St Joseph's Hospice, who looked after Di so carefully during her last days. Di was a (no - THE) founder member of the Grove and it's probable that the choir would not have existed without her energy, enthusiasm and determination.

Our 'pitch' is Liverpool Street Station on Thursday 4th December, from 4pm. Friends and former members are very welcome to join us.

Love to all

Brian
