The Grove Singers
Hello and welcome to the website for the Grove Singers of London!
The Grove Singers is a friendly chamber choir of about 40 voices, which rehearses monthly in Pimlico, central London on a Sunday afternoon. Members of the choir come from all walks of life and enjoy the varied repertoire of music performed – sacred, secular, madrigals, folk, spirituals, ancient and modern.
We sing an average of 4 concerts a year, often mixed programmes of a capella and accompanied pieces, in London and further afield. Trips abroad and weekends away are some of the delights of being part of our friendly group.
I’ve been a member of the Grove Singer’s for 4 years. I really enjoy the wide range of music we perform in a variety of venues around London, in country villages and in our trips abroad. The choir are a friendly welcoming group.
I already sing with a large choral society and what I like about Grove Singers is the chance to sing with a smaller group without having to commit to another weekly rehearsal. And it’s fun to sing in lots of different places, especially on our tours.
I enjoy the friendliness of the choir and camaraderie of the Bass section.
I particularly like the range of music chosen for our next concert, the London venue and singing with an orchestra.
I really appreciate the conductors hard work and the standards that he sets.
I also like the cakes at half time.
